could you possibly remove the reputation thing that baylaw is talking about that I posted? apparently it's in her reputation and she requested it be removed and I honestly thought she was a spammer so if you would be so kind as to grant her request I would appreciate it. Thank you.
I haven't seen them ... I'll have to take a gander.

I've been fighting a fever and have been at work all day, so not much attention to forums.
Can you please tell me how your situation panned out? Would you also explain a little more about what happened after your arrest? Did you participate in a diversion course at all? Were your charges dismissed? Were you able to maintain employment as a teacher or find another position if you needed to do that? Anything you can share would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!
Hi Gail, thank you for yout response last week to my issue of the landlord holding our money. I posted a continuation today as to what he is up to and was hoping someone could share some insight as to what, if any, possible recourse we might have. Throughout the start of this whole mess they were claiming we had a legal binding contract by way of the lease. They still locked us out of the property and denied us access. As of the 18th, the story is that they never signed the lease so there is no contract and that we won't be able to prove we gave them any money because they never gave us any receipts. We have this statement in the form of a text message. To me, this sounds like an intentional act on their part, but it's all he said, she said.
Before receiving that particular text, the police wouldn't file a report and told us it would have to go through civil court or small claims. Now that we have that admission of choosing not to sign the lease, could we now file a police report for theft or fraud, or conspiracy to commit fraud? There has got to be something we can do to rattle their cage but they have been totally unreasonable about talking to us or working with us to at least come to an agreement that would be at least a little bit fair to us.

Thank you in advance for any helpful information you could give us.

Please read my wall and comments on my forum points area from Green Hornet. I really don't appreciate the vulgar language toward me. This kind of behavior is really unacceptable.
Hi tladministrator,
I had posted a link in my very first thread on this forum. Kindly remove it. If there was a edit feature i would have done this myself.
Thanks
hi thelawprofessor,
Please remove the link that i posted in my very first thread. There is no edit feature otherwise i would have done this myself.
Thanks
Thanks for the info, dee_dub. I appreciate your help and advice.

I thought about posting my defamation question elsewhere, but since you already knew the background of the situation and as the problem arose from a contract dispute, I posted it under contracts. If things go further (and the person I'm dealing with seems to be hell-bent on retaliation for my not giving in to his demand for a full refund), I may very well post about the issue under Torts. Thanks again!
The "visitor wall" is where others can post messages to you that people can read. There is a private message function as well (your "mailbox"). I tend not to use these simply because someone else might come along with the same question you have, another poster might have a better answer than whatever I might say, and it just makes things easier to keep everything as public as possible.

I don't know where you can find out about points and levels. You could ask the Professor.

You maybe should have posted your defamation question under Torts. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference, practically - I (and I suspect many others) just look at the "New Posts" and don't pay too much attention to categorization.
Thanks, dee_dub. I'm such a newbie here that I just found the message you left me on my visitor wall over a week ago! Duh!

Anyway, I posted a new thread in the "Contracts" forum. New question about attempts by the ex-client to damage my reputation/defamation and what I should do about it. Would appreciate it if you could take a look. Thanks.

P.S. I still don't get how this place works. Is the "Visitor wall" like private messaging? And where can I find out about points and levels? Thanks.
You're welcome. I don't do private emails. You could post it to the forum as an attachment - I think you need to have posted a certain amount of messages first. Or you could post the text of the document here. But if you've already sent it off, I don't know what more I could add that would be of benefit at this time.
I want to thank you again for your help and advice on my release of claims issue. I drafted something and have sent it off. I was just wondering if there is any way I could send you the document to get your feedback on it. Is there a way to send you an attachment/email? Thanks.
