Injury & Tort Law

A Tort is a civil wrong. Tort Law covers instances where the acts of one person have unfairly caused another to suffer loss or harm. Torts are generally civil in nature and while not necessarily illegal, society and the law recognize that the injured party deserves to be compensated by those responsible for the harm. The most common type of tort is harm caused to a plaintiff due to the negligence of a defendant. Personal Injury Law is a practice specialty within Tort Law which refers to injury to the body and mind as opposed to property damage. General Tort Law includes nuisance and property damage while common Personal Injury Law issues concern auto and car accidents, slip and fall injuries, dental and medical malpractice, asbestos and mesothelioma claims.
