I do not want to be in Boston this week. I did not want to be there yesterday. I REALLY don't want to be there Monday.

Unfortunately, I do not seem to have a choice.

Poured rain yesterday and was windy and cold. Last night it snowed. Yes, snowed. I was not amused. It is chilly today but at least the sun is out. Really hoping this weather straightens out as I don't want to have to try an dfind an Easter dress that matches my snow boots.

I spoke with a salesman in Cincinnati today who said they got three inches of snow yesterday. He mentioned it because he knew I was in Alaska, and he was surprised when I told him that it was over 50 degrees and fairly nice here today.

My husband needs to get the snow tires taken off our car, so I figure we're probably in for one late snowfall when he does that, just because Mother Nature likes to thumb her nose at us when we decide that winter is completely and irrevocably over for the year. The latest snowfall I ever remember was on my brother's birthday, May 12, when I was a kid. We got several inches and it all melted very quickly but still, that's WAY too late for any snowfall in my book!

My wedding anniversary is May 14. Until about a week before the wedding, I was wondering if I was going to have to issue snow boots to my out of town guests.

It would be unusual to have snow in May here but not unprecedented.

That we did. It didn't stick to roads or anything, the ground was too warm, but still! It was 70 degrees the day before!

Yesterday's baseball game between Minnesota & Toronto was postponed due to snow forecasted for yesterday afternoon in Minnesota. It just is not right that we have snow during baseball season!

Business has increased 100% and is still climbing. The target we expect to reach within a few months is a 175% increase. My staff has only increased 25%.

Way to go txls and staff. :)

Oh, I remember.

If it snows here is May I will cry. Came close the other night when my car's starter decided to die and I was standing out in the snow with AAA.

Thanks but we are tired. I'm working an extra 5 hrs during week and pretty often putting in some saturday hours.

But I am pretty excited about next week's Admin Prof dinner. We're having a casino night and the prizes are all in the $200 range.
You can do that when business is good.

That sounds like fun - have a good time!

It's a beautiful Easter Sunday here in the St. Louis area. It's 76 degrees & sunny/light wind.

Probably. :) I'm retired now but when I was working it was just one day or it was "celebrated" at our co. for just one day anyway. I think the calendar showed just one day at that time.

I remember when it was called Secretary's Day (before people began to think that "secretary" was a demeaning title) and it was just one day. When it started I was the only secretary in one department and my boss got me flowers and the other 10 women in the department got all bent out of shape because they felt like if I got flowers, everyone in the department should. Never mind that I was the only actual secretary/administrative assistant, and the only one who worked directly for the SVP. So that department stopped doing anything altogether because of the fuss they made.

On another note, we had a rainy Easter here. My daughter-in-law insisted on having an egg hunt in the yard for my granddaughters in a downpour. By the time they found all the eggs, they were soaked to the skin. I would have just had it indoors if it were up to me, but I guess they enjoyed it anyway and if we postponed or cancelled things around here every time it rained, we wouldn't do much of anything at all!

We don't actually have any secretary's or admin assistants. All of of the clerical staff for all depts are included in our dinner and gifts.

We had lovely weather for our easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon, and we appreciate the rain we got Sunday. I think we would have had an indoor hunt instead of sending the kids out in the rain.

I have a picture of my granddaughter dragging an Easter basket overflowing with eggs from the church Easter Egg Hunt. My daughter said one of the other parents commented that "they shouldn't let those older kids into the pre-school egg hunt". Daughter responded " She's only two, she's just competitive". (background: Mom-ran for and was elected to every office there was in college. Dad- U.S. Marine. Yep she's smart and aggressive, I'm guessing she'll run for public office someday)
