I'm 18 years old and have moved everywhere since I was in the 6th grade due to my dads job. I've been to 3 high schools and that has affected me emotionally and stressed me out tremendously. I recently moved my senior year due to my dads loss of his job. I loved my previous school and want to know if I can legally transfer schools without my parents consent? Apparently when I was younger I was in a car accident and the government gave me 3000 dollars to receive once I turned 18. My mom said her and my aunt have to sign some papers before I receive them, shouldn't that money already be mine? I want to use that money to move back. Please help.

You can do as you wish as an adult. Be advised that your parents are no longer required to support you once you turn 18.

Don't burn bridges that you might one day need to cross.

Three Thousand Dollars isn't very much money.

But, as BayState has said, you're an adult at age 18.

You can just walk away without explanation or permission.
