Youtube video with cp content

Hello everyone

I stumbled across a youtube video that depicted a child pornography video and was shocked to find that on youtube. I want to report it but can I get in trouble for doing that since I've watched a few seconds before closing it? Sorry if thats a silly question, never expected that to happen. Thanks in advance

I wouldn't worry about being in a legal pickle for being shocked by kiddie porn.
You report it to your local police, or to the administrators of YouTube, here:

You can report a video that violates YouTube policy by selecting the "More" then "Report" option on the video's watch page.

Did you report it? So what you happened upon it? It's just like reporting any video on YouTube.

Why would you be surprised it's on YouTube? ANYTHING can be uploaded to YouTube.

Just hit the report button and go on your way.

Yes, I just reported it twice. For child abuse and pornographic content. Nothing happened yet, not that I know of.
I guess I'm just shocked that the bots or whatever system youtube has, didnt remove it already and people can actually watch the video and commit a felony by just viewing even a second of cp. It has a porn-unrelated title and could be mistaken as a bad parody until you click on it and watch it.
 
Well you probably won't get notified or find out anything. Just go along your day.

People are not likely going to be charged with a felony by accidentally viewing child porn. If someone clicked on it and viewed it for a few seconds that's pretty obviously an accident.

If you are downloading it and watching the entire thing over and over that's when they'll likely charge a person with viewing or possessing child porn.
 
I didnt watch more than a couple seconds before I closed it. Came here to ask for advice cause I was frankly scared. Then I clicked on it again, paused it directly, reported it twice. Thats it so far.
I hope the user who uploaded it will get charged.

I didnt know about that. On the side bar of the video it only offers to share it or add it to a playlist. Can that possibly get me in trouble? Having clicked twice on it due to me being stupid.
I think youtube has a way of seeing how many seconds you watched so if they re-view that and see I didnt watch much more than a few seconds the first time and none-one second the second time, it would show that. But I dont know if thats possible....
 
Stop worrying. You reported it and I presume there is nothing else in your search history or on your computer which would be problematic. Clicking on something a few times so you can report it is hardly going to get you the staring role on "To Catch A Predator". Law enforcement barely has the resources to chase the ones who are using it regularly and producing this stuff. You aren't even going to hit their radar screen.
 
Youtube videos are NOT prescreened before uploading. By reporting it you make Google (owns Youtube) aware so it can be removed. Unless your search was for child porn your safe
