When I joined my company 7 months ago I signed an agreement to repay my signing bonus on a pro-rated basis if I left before 1 year. The company has hit significant financial trouble and is looking to mandate a salary cut for all employees.

If the company cuts my salary, can I leave without having to repay the signing bonus because they violated the employment agreement? (the agreement I signed stated both my salary and the bonus amount/repayment clause).

Only an attorney in your state who has read all the applicable documentation can answer that question.

You have a good defense in not paying it back since they cut your salary.
