Every time I call in sick my boss tells me I need to suck it up cause he has a lot of work to get done. This creates a lot of stress for me and my family and I'm wondering if there is anyway to get compensation or of I just need to try and switch jobs

How often do you call in sick, and for what reasons?

Be specific, because I can think of situations where you'd have legal recourse and situations where you'd have no option but to suck it up or find other employment.

Unless the time is protected by FMLA, which would not apply to routine sick absences, your option is to seek other employment.

You probably work for a privately owned, small in number employer, right?

In that case, the best solution is to seek a new employment situation.

If you are employed by a gigantic conglomerate, you should familiarize yourself with the company policy on illness.

However, when any superior begins to rag on you because of absences, even though legal recourse might be available, your best solution is to seek new employment ASAP.

Why?

No one can walk that little white line 100% of the time, and because human nature is to be vindictive towards anything but marshmallows.
