For PERSONAL reasons? As in, not work-related at all? Then, no. But, if ostensibly for some work reason, sure!

And, yes, the inquiry is saved and can be looked up generally at both the local and the state level.

Yes. Not work related. Anytime this PO sees the ex driving or riding in a vehicle, PO runs the license plates.

Okaaay ... that doesn't mean there was not a legitimate purpose. The PO might be running the names to identify who the probationer is associating with - there could be a good reason. We do that from time to time.

But there is no probationer. She is doing this against her ex husband. Hence, personal reasons.

Yes, that would be illegal! Whoever has firsthand knowledge of this activity should report her to her office, local law enforcement immediately, or the Texas Department of Public Safety as I believe they have responsibility for the statewide network that is used to access these networks).
