How do I dispute child support that I have been ordered to pay and have proof that the child was not living with the mother for the majority of the ordered payments? Is it possible to get the amount that they claim I owe adjusted and do I need an attorney or can I do this myself?

The child isn't required to reside with the person receiving the support, as long as the person supports the child.

But, you are always FREE to discuss the matter with a lawyer.

In fact, its wise to speak with four or five lawyers.

The initial consultation costs you nothing, just 15-20 minutes of your time.

After you've done that, you'll be in a much better position to determine your next steps.
