We live in the state of Colorado. My ex wanted to modify the child support orders when one of the children reached legal age. I told him that he needed file a change with the court. After a few months he just decided to change it without a court order and start sending me the new amount that he figured up. Now he is wanting me to pay him back the difference between what he figured he owed and what was court ordered for the time between when he could have filed for a change and the time that he made one up. Can he amend the support orders without a court order and can he make me pay the difference? I have since incured lots of dental and orthodontic bills for the remaining child and he refuses to pay (he is court ordered to pay 80%) because he says I owe him.
Please help me to decide if he is right or wrong. I need advice!!!
