I filed for modification of child support, asking for an increase. My ex was not happy about this and hired a lawyer. I can't afford one. I have a notice of hearing which states the parties are to exchange financial documents beforehand. In this notice, there is a list of documents that must be provided including copies of tax returns, paystubs, child care costs, etc. That's fine, I am prepared to do that. However I have just received a letter from my ex's lawyer asking for even more information, including 6 months of banks statements, credit card statements, a copy of my rental agreement, my school records, and so on. Do I have to provide this information?

You don't "have" to do anything.
However, it would behoove you to cooperate.
Why force them to have a judge order you to provide the requested documents?
Make it easy in yourself.
