I was married in Iowa in 2003, I was only there for 4 days during the marriage. I am filing for divorce in New Jersey and getting ready to file my papers. We never lived together, owned anything together, and have no kids at all. My question is can she still ask for alimony and would she be entitled to it.

Alimony will be awarded only when a former spouse is unable to meet his or her needs without financial assistance from a spouse who can afford to pay it. Spousal support may be temporary or permanent depending on your future ex's situation. Get together with your lawyer to determine if your soon to be ex is entitled to alimony. Good Luck!

Then look for pro bono attorneys in area who can help you. The American Bar Association is a good place to start. Good Luck!
