    My daughter was born in PuertoRico her father Signed her Birth certificate Now I live in another state he is not part of her life.She doesn't know him I got married and the only person that my daughter knows as a father is my husband can my husband adopt my daughter without her father's consent. I do not know where he lives or where hes at.

    You need to discuss your idea with a lawyer.

    The lawyer will let you know what must be done.

    Such an adoption will require either the father's consent or involuntary termination of the father's rights, which obviously will require that he be notified of the proceedings.

    Then you'll need to make efforts to find him, which may require hiring a private investigator.

    The reason(s) why the two of you lost contact with each other may become very relevant.
