A mad employee Posted non true statements is this defacement of Character

A mad employee posted a mile long email of un true statements about my company on ripoffreport. We are a family company and he personally called out each of my family members on character issues. all lies.. .now i am having people call my office..... he also is black mailing us by saying he will compete against us now... what should i do???

Send him a cease and desist letter requesting that he stop what he is doing to you or you will have to take legal action against him. As far as the compete threat - if you didn't have him sign a non-compete when you were his employer, there is nothing you can do to stop him from doing what he wants to do. Good luck to you!
