tried to hook up on craigslist. Did not post anything relating to prostitution or to children. I cop responded with an email that simply said "call for details" and it listed a phone number. What should I do? Am I in trouble? I'm in CA.

I was driving my car thru town and from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. the stoplights are flashing yellow. On this particular night I was on my way to pick up my son because he needed a ride home and it was really cold out. I went thru 2 intersections and the lights were flashing yellow, the third intersection the light was flashing red, I stepped on my brake but did not completely stop, there was 2 cars behind me and they did the same thing.
I continued on my way and saw in my rear view mirror that the car directly behind me pulled into the other lane and that the third car pulled in behind me and started tailgating me. I then changed lanes and that car did the same . I went past a second intersection and the car continued following very close behind me. I then came to the third intersection and the lights were green and I turned my signal on to turn at this intersection and the car behind me also did this, the light was green and I proceeded then I came to the public library parking lot to turn around and as I reached the driveway the car behind me turned on it's lights and it was a police officer.
He then said and issued me a citation for running a red flashing light and I was parked in the parking lot of the library at this time. I took pictures of all the lights and where I was pulled over while I waited for him to print out my citation. Should I Fight this ? it was 0.6 miles away before he went to pull me over and 2 intersections and one stop light later?
A
Should I fight the citation or not due to the facts that he waited so long and so far before turning his lights on to pull me over and writing the wrong street on the ticket?

i am trying to file a divorce but my ex-husband does not want to sign the joint papers what should i do

I have a question as to whether I should fight a traffic citation or not? I was pulled over for not stopping at a flashing red light, the thing is that the officer tailgated me without his lights on 2 intersections later an over half a mile after this took place before he put on his lights to pull me over. He also wrote the wrong street on the ticket as to where he pulled me over. I am in Menomonie, WI. Is it legal also for an officer to tailgate someone even if they don't pull the person over that they tailgate? ~ahudson

I don't know if you read my question yet so I was just checking ~ahudson

Good evening. A family member who is a member of the medical profession has been diagnosed with colon cancer and has been hospitalized for the past 1-1/2 weeks undergoing the necessary treatments to hopefully get her on the road to recovery. Today, she received notification that she is "being laid off" effective 12/15/08. Is this not illegal?
Your state's laws might vary somewhat, but in most states the DA has absolute discretion whether to pursue a prosecution or not. They can prosecute even if you do not want them to ... in fact, this is commonplace in most states because more than 3/4 of DV victims DO recant or ask for charges to be dropped.

Now, since you did not mention ever getting called to testify, I assume that he aggreed to a plea deal and was not brought to trial. If so, then he's pretty much toast. If he was tried and convicted, the time to bring up legal issues would have been at or before trial - it's a little late now.

I have yet to hear of a state that REQUIRES the victim agree to a prosecution to continue. Many states and DA's offices will allow a victim to decline prosecution if they sign a waiver essentially admitting that they are doing so of their own free will, without coercion, and they agree no to hold any governmental entities responsible for taking no action against the attacker.

I doubt you have any leverage at all here. But, the only way to know for sure would be to check with a local attorney.

I have a question, My fiancee was arrested for domestic abuse about 3 months ago, i was told i was going to be notified by the DA but never recieved a call. After he went to court about 3 times my fiancee was given the number for the DA. When i called i notified i wanted to drop all the charges and the DA told me i had to schedule an appointment at the victims witness center. So i made the appointment and went and told them again that i wanted to drop all the cahrges. They told me i couldnt since they took over the case and now after he has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and a pretty large fine they are saying it was because i didnt drop the charges. Im just a little confused and wondering what i can do to get any of this fixed, financially we cant afford any jail time or any fines and i tried to drop the charges. I feel like my constatutional rights were taken away to drop the charges and everything. What can i do if anything? I have heard i can report the DA in charge of case to the BAR but not sure what that would accomplish. Please help me if you can.
I was chraged with petty theft at Kohl's in irvine and would like to hire an attorney to get me out of this trouble.

My question is should i hire an independent attorney or is it better to go with a reputed law firm? They both are charging the same.

Also if i get a letter from Kohl's asking any civil damage should i pay or hold off as i was told that paying it off would be admission of guilt.

Thanks.

i was wondering if an arrest for prescription forgery will appear on a background check. was arrested over 2 years ago and i am still having to "sign-in" for bail. have not been indicted, given court date or any other action from the courts/law?????
You seem very very busy, and I'm sure you get this a lot. However, I was hoping, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, that you could review my post and perhaps give me a bit of your professional legal advise?
