I was recently laid off peramently from my job as a sales consultant due to lack of performance. However, my sales manager would no longer allow me to cold call for new business unless I already had business in that area. This is hard to do if you can't cold call to get new business. I had developed a couple of new clients thru cold calling but due to the depressed economy in Michigan that process has slowed. The main income producing salesman in the office said that in a good economy he expects it to take at least a year for a cold call to become a customer. I had been cold calling for almost 2 years. Can I sue for lost salary due to not being able to do my job?
