This is just a general question.

Why is there so much emphasis by the courts that fathers need to be involved in their childrens lives, yet the courts are the ones keeping many fathers from doing that? If a father wants 50/50, why can't he just get it? Why does he have to prove abuse or neglect? The father obviously wants to be involved in his childs life, yet the courts usually allow weekend visitations. The child would be better off spending 50/50 time with both parents, rather than most time with just one parent. Unless the mother is neglecting the child, the father is the one being neglected by the courts by not being allowed to spend time with his child.

50/50 is not always viable...Personally if the parents are very close to each other (same school district) I think that 50/50 should always be a legal option.
