if a male co-worker is paid more because his title is different and has different duties (but only for 2.5 hrs a day, the other 6.5 hrs his duties are exactly same as female, is this discrimination.

No, having a different title different duties for any part of the time is a valid and legal reason for his pay to be different.

There is no law that says an employer must pay John the same salary or hourly wage as Jane receives.

There is no law that says an employer must pay Judy the same salary or hourly wage as Jason receives.

An employer has choices, as does an employee.

This equal pay nonsense is just noise.

If you don't like your wages, working conditions, or boss; most of the time all you can do is QUIT.

Everyone is free to choose, that includes the employer, too.

There is a great deal of misunderstanding as to what the equal pay laws require.

You cannot pay John more than Jane BECAUSE John is male.

You cannot pay Judy more than Jason BECAUSE Judy is female.

But you can pay John more than Jane, or Judy more than Jason, for any number of reasons, as long as those reasons do not include John's, or Jane's, or Judy's, or Jason's, membership in a group identified by a characteristic protected by law.

Exactly, and it is rarely the case that Ms. BigMama pays Harry more than Harriet, and admits that she's paying him more because she likes men better.

Or, that Mr. BigDaddy pays Paula more money than Paul, and says he does so because she's more sexy than Paula.

Sadly people believe that that equal means equal.

Equal means nothing, as long as Ms. BigMama and Mr. BigDaddy don't say or do something stupid.
