us military married to a german american needing divorce advice-1 child

My jurisdiction is: michigan

I am currently stationed in Germany and got married about 14 months ago. Things did not work out when I went to Iraq and we are now going through a divorce. We have a 1 year old daughter. Now she is telling me that all German laws apply to me. What actual rights do I have? Do I have to get a German attorney? Any helpful advice would be very appreciative. Thank You

Well it appears Germany would have jurisdiction so yes German laws would apply but I am not sure what those laws are.
