Unpaid Commissions / Work Hours

I am a commissioned employee with no gauranteed salary or wage. I receive a draw against my commissions every Friday, and as I earn commissions, I am paid the amount that is above and beyond what I owe.
I resigned today and gave two weeks notice. I have commissions still due to me in the approximate amount of $6200. All actions and duties needed for me to perform to earn them have been completed. If the employer tries to not pay these (there is no clause in my employment contract that addresses this at all), do I have grounds for action?
On a related note, if an employer pays no base salary or gauranteed wage, can they actually force an employee to work set hours? Especially if that employee has more than doubled his production goals?
I look forward to your opinions.
