Hi all,

I live in Florida and am a salaried employee for a real estate company. Occasionally I have to travel to work (I use my own vehicle). When I travel, I get a fixed amount of compensation for each trip.
Some people have told me that I should be getting a certain rate per mile, but I can't find the information that says what my employer is 'required' to compensate me for by law, or even if he is.
Also, if I use my vehicle to travel occasionally for work, am I required to carry a different type of insurance? or would my boss's insurance cover me, since I am technically 'on the clock' during that time.
Can you help me find this information, and, gulp, understand it also?

Thanks.
