Is there a child support payment cap for the state of Texas. I recently read the law changed in 2007 from anyone making more than $5000 a month payments would be $1200 (plus med) to anyone making more than $7500 a month payments would now be $1500 (plus med). Is this correct? How do bonuses effect the calculation considering the downturn in economy and that fact that the money I made last year will be considerable less this year. Thanks

The cap increased from $6000 to $7500. The percentage owed stayed the same.

Bonuses are considered income. If your child support is calculated annually based on your W2, then you should see a decrease if your income decreased.
