The Last name of my child

I live in California and i am having a baby of a man that i found out has a very bad police record...he can support the child, but i wanted to give him my last name. if i do this will it cause a trouble with getting child support for my son?

You can give the baby either name it is up to you. The child support issue will be settled by paternity tests, not by the last name. It is your choice.

Ultimately it is up to you on the last ncame. My question, if this guy has a criminal record, why do you want him around? Understnad that if he pays support, he will want some visitation with the child. Decide how much you want him involved, but you cannot expect childs support and him have no rights. Just keep that in mind.
