In the state of New Jersey after the divorce is final if the custodial parent starts making more income does that make any difference on support payments. Also if there is an inheratance by either party after the divorce does that have any effect on support.

Since the income of both parents is considered in the calculation, then it may affect the amount of CS owed; however, review of the order is generally only allowed every three years.

The only information I could find states that the inheritance itself is not considered, but any potential interest income from the inheritance may be considered in the calculation. Again, recalculation may be subject to the 3-year rule.

I suggest you consult an attorney about the possibility of revisiting the support order if it has been less than 3 years.

Inheritance generally is not considered income for CS calculations, it is also not community property if you are in a community property state. Most CS jurisdictions allow a review every 2 or 3 years for income increase purposes.
