The question that I have is, I have helped take care of my nieces all there life. There mother left after they were born there father my older brother decided he didn't want them. He signed away his custody of both girls to my mother. My mother, grandmother and I have raised them together as my mother was terminal and my grandmothers health was very low. They have both recently passed away I have been taking care of them. The oldest child is 9 and the youngest is 7 there father was never there for them but now he wants to take them from me. Is it possibile for him to do so?

Yes, he may have signed something, but it isn't legal. A parent can't sign away their parental obligation to take care of their children. Only a court can strip the parent of that right, with due process and good cause.
