My daughter has been diagnosed with asthma after months of coughing & wheezing. My ex husband is well aware of the diagnosis but continues to let his chain smoking girlfriend (they live together) around my daughter. She has been coming home from his house wheezing (I thought it was due to the heat), this past weekend she came home wheezing again. I gave her a breathing treatment and it seemed to help, Monday I gave her another breathing treatment but she stayed the same, Tuesday at school she had two attacks, the second resulting in her throwing up. My husband picked her up from school and gave her a treatment, she was till wheezing when I got home, so I gave her another, she seemed to be getting worse so we rushed her to the ER. The ER decided to transport her to another hospital who ended up admitting her. She spent 3 days in the hospital on steriods, an IV, and oxygen. The ER nurses & her pediatrician say that smoking was more than likely the cause. Should I play hard ball and get a court order against him to prevent her going to his house? I know it's going to "hit the fan" so to speak when he gets the child support papers in the mail this week and I'm afraid he's going to go to any length to start trouble or have her taken off me. Like I stated in a previous post CYS has been at his house at least 3 times that I know of, he works construction so he's hardly ever home during the week, and his current girlfriend is the nicest to my daughter. Where do I need to go for a court order and what information do I need to get one?
