I recently had a baby. after my 6 wks of maternity leave I went to my employer to check the schedule to see when I was to return for work. When I checked the schedule...I wasn't scheduled to work. When I asked my manager when I was to return to work she told me I would have to fill out an application & be rehired. I called corporate office & told them what happened & they said they would get back to me & they never have. What do I do from here?

Were you out on FMLA leave - link below?

If not, would an employee out for the same period of time (where FMLA didn't apply) for something other than pregnancy (ie broken leg), have to reapply/be rehired for his/her position? (Pregnancy discrimination law might apply-how many employees does your employer have?) Thanks.
