I was just wondering what can happen to a 16-year-old runaway in North Carolina. Is it true that the cops can bring you to jail for 10 hours and/or return you to your parents? I've seen on this site, however, that North Carolinian cops have no obligation but to inform the parents of the child's whereabouts.
