Rude remarks made to secretary!

I have heard that one of my major members of staff has made some rather rude remarks towards one of my secretaries. He has told her that she is obese and doesn't enhance our company brand. Since then she has gone off work sick. This has caused big rift umong staff. Where do i stand legally from the secretaries perspective and in taking action against them rude member of staff?
