Criminal Law Please Help With Upcoming Court Appearance

PLEASE HELP MY FIANCE WAS ARRESTED FOR A MINOR TRAFFIC VIOLATION AND IS NOW BEING HELD BY IMMIGRATION IN LOUISIANA. HE WENT TO COURT ON WEDNESDAY BUT THEY RESET THE DATE FOR MONDAY. WHAT CAN WE EXPECT TO HAPPEN WITHOUT A LAWYER AND WHAT SHOULD HE SAY TO THE JUDGE.

If he is an illegal immigrant here, there is not much he can tell the judge... A lawyer can try his/her best to amenize the situation but it is on the judge's hand to decide what happens next...

He has been here illegally and now that he is in trouble he wants asylum? That won't fly... As far as how long will it take for him to be deported, it will depend on how the INS handles the process. With or without a lawyer, his chances are just not great. Good Luck!

It varies.........usually a max of six to eight months. But your primary concern now is to get an immigration lawyer. ASAP!
