I've completed most of my Green Card application with help of a "Do It Yourself Kit" written by an immigration lawyer, but I have one concern. With respect to the supporting documents for the I-864 Form, is it all right to submit PHOTOCOPIES of my sponsor's last three income tax returns, or do I have to order special certified computer printouts from the IRS (Form I-1722)?

The reason I ask is because on the USCIS's "Basic Documentary Checklist" for Green Card applications, it states, "Affidavit of Support: Form I-864 - Must include: last three years Federal income taxes (certified computer printouts from the IRS, Form I-1722)." In the instructions for the I-864 form, however, it simply says to include "Your individual Federal income tax returns for the most recent 3 tax years."

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter!

you want to be sure and avoid problems and not discuss the interpretation of the form with an INS agent, so you get the certified IRS documents
