Good day! Are there any legal documents that can be used as a proof temporarily in place of marriage certificate? This is for our undergraduate thesis which involves married couples, and we have gathered participants who are newlyweds. Their marriage certificate is still being processed as of the moment.

Can we use other documents such as their marriage license acquired before the wedding? Or even photos taken during the wedding which shows the signing of their marriage contract?

Use other documents for what purpose? For your thesis? Whether they would work to meet the requirements of your thesis depends on what the thesis is about and the parameters you have set for testing the proposition in the thesis. Without knowing what the thesis is about and what jurisdiction is actually involved, I can't tell you what might be sufficient. Note that if the jurisdiction is other than the United States this site may not be of much help since this site is devoted to legal issues in the U.S.
