My jurisdiction is: Alabama
I'm a Federal employee for the Department of Defense. I have 36 years with DOD. In late 2006 they moved my nephew into my chain of command. Earlier this year they Involuntarily reassigned me and my daughter so we would not be in his chain. Is it legal for them to move us to accomodate him? The jobs we were placed in are dead end jobs, the jobs we were moved from had promotion potential. There are many others at this installation that are not in compliance with the new Nepotism policy, but so far they have only moved members of two families. Is it fair to single us out? Also is there any type of legal action we can take to legally sever our relationship ties to my Nephew?
