Mother-in-Law interference with adoption

My mother-in-law is impeding our attempt to have our children adopted by a family who already has custody of our children through a court-ordered guardianship. We cannot take care of children; and we are trying to work with the family that is taking care of our children, trying to assist their efforts to adopt our children. However, my mother-in-law has hired a lawyer to stop the adoption.
What can we do to stop my mother-in-law and allow the adoption to proceed?

We live in the State of Georgia just north of Atlanta.

Does the mother law in have a relationship with the kids at all? Is there any reason why the kids are going to someone outside the family? She can certaijly try to stop or delay the adoption but she mau not have much success. Depending on what state you are in, she may get visitation with the kids.

I'd say ignore her, unless and until you get served with court papers. You don't need to do anything to stop her to "allow the adoption to proceed" - that's a matter between you, the prospective adoptive parents, and the state. If she wants to interject herself into that process, she's free to try, but that's of no concern at the present.

Thank you. For info, the mother-in-law was severely restricted by DFAC to supervised visits. The last visit, she dropped the one-year old on the floor of a fast-food place; the one-year old was taken to the emergency room with abrasions but no major trama. The mother-in-law has not seen any of the children for at least six months since that disturbing visit.
