Hr investigation involving accused wrong doing of a coworker ... Staff is being tricked and lied to into giving information. Hr personnel has yet to be involved. Certain people are being targeted because its believed they know something but say they have no knowledge. The manager seems to have a vendetta towards certain people. She's asking question like why did you de friend this person on Facebook ... Just really weird!
Long story short , it's gotten ugly , and has created a hostile work environment ... What can we do??

You note as the title of your thread manager harassment. You then note HR investigation but also note HR personnel not yet involved. Are you saying the mgr. is doing the investigation without HR being involved? Investigations can be conducted in the workplace.

Hostile work environment has a specific meaning in "employment law". -- see link below:

What's happening Betty , is that the manager seems to have turned her attention away from the main suspect and is now headhunting so to speak people she doesn't like. It's hard to type everything that's been done to this point , but if someone doesn't want to be involved and claims having seen nor heard nothing.... but this manager is hell bent on destroying this one person for claiming to not know anything. Asking questions of other employees, does " name here" know anything?? Almost cohersing other employees to speculate what other people saw or didn't see!! It's crazy... I've never seen a more blatant violation of the code of ethics policy! The manager also reminds us all tha her and the hR person are very close friends.... So where do we turn??

Specifically what law do you believe is being violated?

That's a serious question; it's not clear from your posts if any law is being violated. Give us a place to start.

She's lying to one employee , saying that they confessed in seeing this or that , but that employee never did say anything of the sort ....
To add another twist , I myself ( male) had sex with this store manager a year and a half ago and she still sends messages through text or Facebook to me... I have refused her. The person she is targeting to fire at work over whether she saw or didnt see anything is my girlfriend!

You quit or wait to be fired. You go to work, do your job, keep your mouth shut and do not become insubordinate. You might last through payday.

You know that Bill Clinton creation, "don't ask, don't tell"? It worked.

That stuff about remaining silent, or the one about silence being golden, they work, too.

Just because someone asks a question that you know the answer to, doesn't mean you have to say anything more than, "I don't recall", or "I don't know anything about that."
