Libel, slander, defmation of character?

A local news paper just published a list of naughty and nice people in today edition. My name was included as Naughty. I am a teacher and coach and have had several people ask me what I did to be naughty. They were joking but I still feel my character has taken a hit. I am a private citizen and hold no public office. I have voiced my displeasure to the paper in an email. Is there any legal action or threat of legal action for me?

The first amendment right is tricky...............From your post there is not enough for you to have a valid claim of slander or defamation........It takes a whole lot to get it........Magazines or writers can express certain freedoms in opinions and many things........They don't seem to have crossed the line here from your post.
