My husband left his Job in September 2006 to start his own business in sales.
His former company has not removed his name from the Answering system.
When you call the company the system still says to reach someone from our sales
department press 1, then to Reach Bob ***** press 2. Are they allowed to continue to use his name as if he never left?

You can request that the company remove his name and perhaps should - in writing - if there is a serious issue. The company can always reroute his calls to the new person who will be fielding his old calls if that part iswhat you are worried about as well. If they try to play games, it's a very poor sales tactic since the person who had a relationship with your husband will find out he left the company and failure to disclose it if asked will damage credibility. If they are using his name as if he is associated with the company, then that could be of issue.

I seriously doubt that anyone is trying to leave the impression that he still works there. But revamping the telephone system is not the first thing on anyone's list of things to do when someone leaves the company. With many systems it's a very complicated process that requires taking the system off line for a half hour or more, so they don't make changes until there are several to be done.

No laws are being violated. Since it's unlikely that your husband is being damaged in any way by this, what difference does it make?
