hello,
i would like to ask you a quick question. I was fired(let go) couple of years ago and was told that i will be able to apply again if something comes up but when i tried the human resorces manager has my file as no rehireable and it is a big hotel chain. So i am not able to apply anywhere for this chain
can you tell me if i am able to clear my file somehow?
thanks a lot

I can only give you the US law., Canadian law may or may not be the same.

In the US, it is 100% up to the employer whether or not an employee is eligible for rehire. There is no law an employee can invoke that will force the employer to make him eligible. Likewise, with very limited exceptions that apply only in some states, even if the employee is eligible for rehire that does not obligate the employer to rehire him.

You will need to find a Canadian law site to find if the same applies on Ontario. The law in Canada and the US is often different and we have no experts in Canadian law on this site.

You need to find a Canadian law forum/site - you can do a google search. You could also "check" with a lawyer in your area.

Here is a link to one site: http://legal.advicescene.com/ca
