I was offered a position in a hospital on Aug. 15, 2005. I accepted. On Aug. 17, 2005, the HR representative telephoned me to inquire about an arrest that I have pending ( a class B misdemeanor - terroristic threat - I am accused of threatening an individual). Anyway, I explained the situation to the HR representative. On Aug. 22, I went in and took a pharmacology exam, math exam and a drug screen, as well as having blood drawn for titers to confirm immunizations, etc. Everything was fine. On Aug. 29, 2005, the HR representative called me to say that they were not moving forward with the offer. Two full weeks after I had accepted the positon. The job application did not ask about any pending legal issues, so I know that failure to disclose is not the issue. Can they do this? What about my privacy concerning blood tests etc.?? Any suggestions?
