Scenario:
You submit vacation request to management as required, it is approved (verbally).
2 days before your vacation start date you are told you have to postpone it, this is after having purchased airline ticket, hotel reservation made, car rental paid, tour paid etc.

Is it legal, ethical for an employer to do this? If you refuse to postpone and simply say you are taking the vacation i assume you can fired.

Is it legal, ethical for an employer to do this? Yes, it's legal. Whether it's ethical is not relevant. I can only assume the employer felt they had an urgent reason to ask this employee to cancel his/her vacation.

If you refuse to postpone and simply say you are taking the vacation i assume you can fired. Yes, the employee could be lawfully fired.
