is an "assigned counsel" a good or bad idea?

I am just wondering because I am not sure if I am able to afford an attorney and am wondering if these "assigned counsels" will help or hurt my case.

They will do just fine.
All appointed counsel are lawyers.
In fact, some people are paying for what the state is giving you for free.

If you don't like or get along with the first two or three, you can fire them and get another one appointed to represent you.
