A large group of current and past employees of a county home get together for supper on a regular basis. They are all friends.

Recently one of the current employees was sent home for being "negative" at work and was also told they could no longer go out with this group of friends for supper!!! Their job was threatened. In the recent past other current employees were told they were not to talk to certain other employees from this group. The administration perceives some of these people as "bad" simply because these employees don't agree with everything the administration is doing and have guts enough to say so. It is a taxpayer supported home.

How can they dictate who their employees have as friends etc.?

Any suggestions, besides all of us finding a new job. lol

Thanks for the input.

What would you like to happen?

Contact HR and ask if such conduct is allowed?

Report it to the county supervisors.

We do not have an HR.....supposedly the county supervisors have washed their hands of the place. Don't know how that can be since it is a county home.

As for what we want to happen.....the people it is happening to want it to stop. *s*

The county supervisors can't wash their hands, if it is a county facility.

Speak to YOUR county supervisors about these practices.

Have the group ask to be heard at a county board of supoervisors meeting and voice your concerns.

Talk to the press, they love scandals.

Ask a tv reporter to investigate the charges.
