The home office of the company I work for (in Louisiana, USA) was broken into and the employment payment packets were stolen, thus compromising all of my info including my SS#. It has been over a month since this happened - & we just now found out about it as 2 of the womens stolen info has been used to fraudently open credit cards. When the home office was contacted they said that it all had indeed been stolen. Is there any legal recourse for the employer NOT notifying us one month ago when incident occured? If I had known I could have gotten a jump on fraud alerts....
