I am married but I have not been with this man for two years. We have two girls 5 and 2. I have been taking care of my girls for about two and a half years by myself. He went to college and cheated on me and so we try a few times to work it out but it never worked. He has in the past gaven me money for the girls but always stops. I have not gotten any money or calls from him for the girls in the past few months. I am planning on failing for divorce but I want to go for soul custody of my girls . I would like to know if I have a good change of that. I just want what is best for my girls and he is not the best for them. My 2 year old dose not know who he is. So please write me back and let my know what you thank.

No one can possibly predict what a court might decide regarding custody as we do not know anything about either of you. The more stable, safe and secure environment will likely be the best for the girls. Whether that can be found with you or your estranged husband is something no one here can predict.

Sure you have a chance at osle custody but Dadis going to be entitled to visitation. He does have rights too. You can ask for supervised visits for Dad to get acquainted with the girls, but sole custody does not necessarily mean you are in total control. The courts will likely assert Dad some rights.
