Can a wife refuse the husband to see their child? Is that legal?
Background: Man and woman are currently married, have a child together, but have been living apart for almost three years. They do not want to be together, but haven't had the money to get a divorce. Man has been paying wife $100 weekly towards the child and her needs (not court ordered). Up until recently, though, man has informed her that he will no longer provide payment so he can instead pay for the divorce. Woman gets upset, and now refuses to allow man to see their child.
From my understanding, a father has the same rights as the mother. Or so I thought. Is this legal? What steps can he take?
