Fraud, Embezzlement, Bad Checks How long can he be held in jail?

My husband was arrested in Washington Parish for a warrant out of Tangipahoa Parish for a bad check. How long can Washington Parish hold him until Tangipahoa goes to get him? He has been there since Saturday evening.:confused:
 
I am assuming you are in Louisiana.

He can be held until he either bails out or is taken to the other parish.
 
They won't let him bail out and they said they have to hold him until Tangipahoa comes to get him, even if it means he'll be there a week. Can they really hold him for that long or longer?

A: If he is ineligible for bail, he has to stay in jail.
