I had 3 dui`s in April of 2004 which resulted in among other things a 11 year license suspension( in pennsylvania ). I am a Florida resident and have talked to the hardship license department where they checked my driving record and said I am eligible for a Florida hardship license with the ignition interlock system and I need clearance from pennsylvania so they can issue it. Would I have to request a letter of clearance from pennsylvania or how would I go about this?

Yes, you should communicate with Pennsylvania and find out if they'll support your licensing efforts in Florida.
