I have $150 taken out for mandatory health benefits for myself. Can I subtract that from my gross income since I cannot opt out of it?

Subtract out for what? Disposable income calcs (I answered that in your previous question).

If you mean from income taxes, does your employer provide those through a pretax method (Section 125 plan) such that that income has already not been taxed? So they would already not be in your W-2 income that is reported.

You really need to give more details on why you are asking because otherwise your questions are not making sense! And we are just guessing as to why you are asking.

Considering the OP's questions are in the CS forum, I would venture a guess that OP is trying to get his CS amount lessened.

You're asking about taxes.
If you seek proper tax advice, you should direct those questions to a tax attorney or a CPA.

Straight from the guidelines

These guidelines are based on the combined net income of the parents. Generally, net income is gross income minus income taxes, mandatory union dues, mandatory retirement, previously ordered child support orders, and, when appropriate, a theoretical child support obligation for other dependents. See Appendix IX-B for a detailed definition of income and taxes as they relate to the child support guidelines

The way to avoid child support is to never breed with a member of the opposite sex, but if you find that difficult, make sure YOU take proper birth control countermeasures!

To make sure your assets remain your assets alone, never marry, then you won't need to fret about spousal maintenance or alimony, either.

Elle, I posted that same whole article yesterday and the OP comes back and asks another vague question....ugh! I too think he/she is trying to get child support lowered. But it doesn't look like mandatory health insurance is subtracted out of disposable earnings....but who knows what he/she is really aiming for.....

Reading your ridiculous response is 5 seconds of my life I'll never get back. You really should consider not offering advice when it is of no use to the person asking. Let the professionals who want to offer really advice handle it.

Maybe what I'm looking for is intelligent advice...fairly certain it isn't happening here. You just jump on that band wagon, Elle. Serious character flaw. Just saying

Now I know why Army Judge has the reviews he/she does. You could save people time and just write, "We're useless!" It would much more transparent.
