Can my Step Dad give up custody of one of his kids but keep the other? We are having issues with his 1 child and he can't control her. She is mentally unstable and could hurt someone.

Givd up custody of 1 but still keep the other

A child, such as you describe, can be institutionalized, or placed as a ward of the state. How old is the child? What steps have been taken to assist the child? This will not be easy, it will not be quick, and it will require the action of the right court. Have dad speak with a lawyer, and get the child's mother involved.
