Hi quick question if a person of 17 years old decides to live somewhere else with someone else that takes care of them without that 17 year old's parents permission, can that 17 year old be locked up in any type of place or will that 17 year old be allowed to continue living where they chose? I've been told that the police can find you and bring u back home but the third time there is nothing they can do is that true, or not?

Don't believe the hype.
A 17 year old must live where and with whom the child's parents designate.
If the child decides to absent themselves from their parental designated domicile, they can face juvenile court charges for the status offense of "running away", or "being an incorrigible youth".

The child will be an adult in fewer than 11 months.

Advise the child to "grin & bear it", and when the child becomes an adult, he or she can tell mama and papa, to go "pound sand".

Not. Not true at all. The cops can come and drag your little ass home 103 times if that's what it takes.

What's more, the people you go to stay with can end up in jail.
